We are looking for a high-energy, driven candidate to join our Toronto Sales Team as a Business Development Representative. You will join a collaborative, specialized sales team consisting of an Account Executive and several Product Specialists. The role of the Business Development Representative will be to work closely with the Account Executive to prospect into key strategic business accounts, generate warm prospects and hunt new business opportunities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a client-focused attitude and excellent communication skills. You will have a genuine interest in restaurant operations, customer pains, and software solutions. You will be able to handle a large volume of calls, engage diverse prospects in a discovery of their needs, and possess a “hunter” mindset. You will be provided with the training, tools and support to succeed and given the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the growth of 7shifts.


  • Confidently make calls to 7shifts enterprise accounts that have been given warm introductions by existing clients
  • Generate qualified opportunities by converting interested prospects into trial account clients
  • Participate in weekly team sales strategy meetings intended to create a “War Room” approach to prioritizing sales strategy and account conversion. As part of these meetings you will be responsible for helping prioritize target accounts and collaboratively guide the sales strategy to close them
  • Work closely with your Account Executive to execute the sales strategy and apply a team-selling approach to gaining traction within longer sales-cycle accounts
  • Achieve monthly quotas of turning qualified opportunities into paying clients
  • Log and track all sales communications into the company CRM and ensure your accounts are up to date on a daily basis
  • Maintain follow-up communications with leads
  • Achieve monthly quotas of qualified opportunities and closed business


  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-4 years of full-time sales experience (software sales is a bonus)
  • Prospecting experience a plus
  • CRM experience
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with needs-based sales and consultative sales methods
  • Familiarity with SAAS business sales
  • Ability to ask probing questions and understand customer needs
  • Ability to turn common objections into solutions
  • Driven, self-motivated and determined
  • Does not get discouraged by rejection
  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage time
  • Ability to manage a high volume of calls
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Previous restaurant industry experience a plus
